L’utilisation des technologies de l’information et de la communication (TIC) est devenue une nécessité dans le monde du travail et dans la vie quotidienne. Cependant, de nombreux jeunes de la région de Kolda n’ont pas accès à une formation adéquate pour se familiariser avec ces technologies. Ce qui entraine un problème d’employabilité et l’augmentation du taux de chômage des jeunes. Ainsi, l’Association Guné Kolda a installé dans ces locaux sis au quartier Fass Dihé derrière la pharmacie Kaoussoulaye, après l’hôpital régional, un centre de formation informatique dénommé ICONTECH (Initiative pour les Compétences Numériques et Technologiques) pour contribuer à l’employabilité des jeunes.
L’objectif principal du centre est de renforcer les compétences numériques et technologiques des bénéficiaires. Il vise également à offrir des compétences entrepreneuriales, ainsi qu’une formation en recherche sociologique et étude de terrain, pour encourager les bénéficiaires à devenir des acteurs du développement économique et social de leur communauté.
Le centre de formation ICONTECH accompagne les élèves, les étudiants, les jeunes, les migrants de retour et les professionnelles et toute autres personnes désireuses de s’initier ou de renforcer ses capacités en informatique.
